Who Wears Glasses? (School Reader Level One) Ana Galan. Illustrated by Sebastian Burnett. 2010. Scholastic. 32 pages.
Glasses, glasses, all is clear: what is far and what is near!
Fancy glasses for the snake. Chimp needs glasses that won't break.
Swimming goggles for the shark. Tiger wears them in the park.
Who Wears Glasses is a silly, rhyming book for beginning readers. It stars a cast of (wild) animals all very happy to be wearing glasses in the style of their choice. Glasses are anything but boring in this one. If anything they help each animal express him/herself better.
While I can't say I found this one as charming as some of the other early readers I've reviewed today (Turkey Day, There's A Mouse in the House), it's still a silly, reader-friendly book that may appeal to those just beginning to read.
